22/23 Topic Announcement

Following are the final results for the 2022-2023 national high school policy debate topic balloting. A record-tying 39 States, the National Speech and Debate Association, the National Catholic Forensic League, National Association for Urban Debate Leagues and the National Debate Coaches Association had the opportunity to vote on the topic. Emerging Technologies was chosen with 30 of the 43 votes (69%) cast for the topic as shown below. Global Geo-Political Crisis: Emerging Technologies

Resolved: The United States federal government should substantially increase its security cooperation with the North Atlantic Treaty Organization in one or more of the following areas: artificial intelligence, biotechnology, cybersecurity.The 2022 Policy Debate Topic Selection Meeting will be held in Kansas City from August 5th-7th, 2022.
