McDonogh JN wins the 2017 TOC!

Congratulations to McDonogh’s Ryan James and Nish Neelakandan on winning the 2017 Tournament of Champions.  McDonogh(Neg) defeated Peninsula(Aff) TW in the final round on a 3-0 decision.  It was the fourth time that these two teams squared off in a final round.  Congratulations also to Coach Daryl Burch for winning his second TOC championship.

McDonogh defeated New Trier BW in the semifinals, and Peninsula defeated Westminster BH.  The other four quarter-finalist teams were Whitney Young OR, Damien MP, Montgomery Bell BH and Montgomery Bell KR.

The Octafinalists were Head Royce DC, Glenbrook North JL, Montgomery Bell CJ, Baltimore City EY, Polytechnic WX, Montgomery Bell GJ and College Prep MW.  Coming in 17th place was Peninsula JK.

Peninsula’s Raam Tambe was the top speaker at the TOC, followed by McDonogh’s Ryan James, Peninsula’s Jerry Wang, Glenbrook North’s Jonah Jacobs and McDonogh’s Nish Neelakandan.

Congratulations to all the competitors at this years TOC.  It’s a great accomplishment.
